DOWNTOWN— Atwater In The Park is gearing up for their April 1st opening, but the owners are already moving on to the next project: a brewpub in the Foxtown district. They haven't said anything else, but expect more on this soon.
DETROIT/METRO DETROIT— It's the beginning of the month, which means that there's a brand new Heatmap up, featuring both new and old restaurants throughout the city (with one representative from the 'burbs). Check it out and learn where to eat this month.
MIDTOWN— The coffee shop The Bottom Line has been having some winter-related problems which have forced them to close, but the owner promises that it's only temporary and that they'll reopen and be better than ever.
DETROIT— Local cafes and restaurants are starting to discover what Eastern Market shoppers have known for a few months now, which is that the lava cakes at Chez Chloé, brainchild of French transplant Chloé Sabatier, are awesome.
DETROIT— It's time for Eater's Young Guns to be nominated, and this is the first year that Detroit's been in on the action. This city has some extraordinary young talent, so make sure that's recognized and nominate them on a national stage.
MIDTOWN— Detroit's newest restaurant is Topsoil, a vegetarian and vegan cafe inside of the MOCAD and owned by the folks behind Russell Street Deli. The hours are those of the museum, so they're a little strange, but nothing costs more than $8, so it's worth the trade.
