Scenes from Today's Demolition Party at Brewster-Douglass

New, 26 comments

Demolition has commenced! Politicians mingled with reporters, residents, and aerial drones this afternoon to officially begin smashing the Frederick Douglass Towers. Mayor Duggan was there. Bing was there. Both probably gave stirring speeches, but the microphone gave out and it was nearly impossible to hear anyone.
We do know these facts: Demolition will be boring. The towers will be toppled by prodding and nudging them into submission with a high-reach excavator. From what we saw, the process is slightly less exciting than tearing down several huge sandcastles with a dry spaghetti noodle. The whole process should take eight weeks.
