No Toilet Left Behind: DNR Focused on Belle Isle's Bathrooms

New, 6 comments

As the warm weather settles in, the DNR has released video evidence that its efforts at Belle Isle extend beyond chopping down a gazillion trees. Over the winter, plenty of promises were made about eventually restoring Belle's old buildings. For now, however, the video makes clear that priority #1 is providing park-goers with a place to go number one. The DNR hopes to have all bathrooms open in time for summer.
According to the DNR, the Conservatory, Casino, and White House are also enjoying some TLC. The super-old White House will become DNR's administrative offices on the island, though it's unclear what's happening at the Conservatory. The lucky Casino building got some new LED lights, fire alarm upgrades, and—you guessed it—a functioning bathroom.
