Curbed tipsters appear to be constantly watching for potential Starbucks locations in Detroit. We are grateful for it. Last summer, you helped us report the first hints of the now-open location in Campus Martius. Last week, three separate tips pointed to a new location hatching in the Gateway Marketplace on 8 Mile. It's the mall containing Detroit's celebrated Meijer superstore.
Starbucks HQ has yet to respond to our media inquiry, but the 'Bux is definitely coming to 8 Mile. Currently under construction, the branch has a corner storefront in one of the development's smaller outbuildings. It also appears to have a drive-thru. We'll update you if hours or a projected grand opening date become available.
