It was recently announced that the James Scott Memorial Fountain on Belle Isle would be up and running again this summer—at least on weekends. Thanks to Crain's, we get a glimpse of the huge fountain's underground guts, which are nearly a century old. Even when it's fully functional, the Scott reportedly needs a dedicated operator at all times, hence the high price of keeping it running.
