The Detroit News cobbled together a giant, important-looking update on M1 Rail today. There must be a substantial nugget of new information somewhere within, right? Not quite. M1 officials have yet to finalize what streetcar they're going to use, which was supposed to happen five months ago. "Officials won't reveal when construction will begin" is still a relevant sentence, somehow. At this point, the only tangible progress is construction on the train's utilities, which began during the winter. But all is not gloomy! The News reminds us that M1's party planning committee will throw a groundbreaking ceremony sometime this summer.
