Was there a grain of truth in the promise of an elevator for Michigan Central Station? HistoricDetroit.org seems to think so. If it's true, the elevator would be one of largest improvements the old station has seen in years.

A Facebook post by Historic Detroit claims that building owner Matty Moroun pulled permits for $676K worth of work at Michigan Central Station, including a new freight elevator for moving all those windows. The post also names some names: Architecture firm Quinn Evans and JC Beal Construction, both of which have offices in Detroit. We'll update if more information becomes available.
UPDATE (6:36PM): It's all true, as confirmed by a Moroun spokesperson.
