This century-old apartment building in SW Detroit was auctioned off by the Detroit Land Bank on Thursday. It sold for just $1,200. Photos and inspection documents reveal a building lacking electrical, plumbing, and much of an interior. We will say that the bannisters are impressive.
Additionally, inspectors mention a couple of structural structural issues on the northern side of the building. Still, $1,200 is cheap for so much property in SW Detroit, especially considering its location on Infantry Street is poised for a jump in value. Just three blocks away, rumblings continue over the potential $15M Vernor Square development.
