[Detroit Riverfront Conservancy]
The RiverWalk has taken a big leap west. Opened yesterday, the latest extension pushes beyond Joe Louis Arena and the Riverfront Towers, traveling all the way to Rosa Parks Boulevard. The path spans the twenty-acre site that used to hold the Detroit Free Press printing plant, which is now green space. Before you head out there, take a look at a photo of the space before improvements began—it really helps appreciate how much things have changed.
