It wasn't a press conference, but Mayor Duggan told a radio audience that before his term is up in 2017 he would like to see the Pistons relocate from the bumfuckery of Auburn Hills to downtown Detroit. He continued, "I even think Dan Gilbert would like to see the Pistons come downtown in his neighborhood." Interesting. Is the gravitational pull of the arena deal, Duggan, and Gilbert strong enough that Pistons owner Tom Gores can feel it out in the burbs? Unfortunately he has just spent $40M to upgrade the Palace of Auburn Thrills.
As the Freep points out, during his campaign Duggan liked to remind voters that he was part of the deal that got the Lions to ditch Pontiac for Ford Field in Detroit.
