The Builders of The Fail Jail Don't Want To Give Up

Construction of the downtown jail that downtowners don't want was halted last year when it was discovered that that finishing the jail would cost an extra $100M. Now the company that still wants to get paid to finish the thing is offering to shave $40M off the price and pitching Wayne County to finish the 2,000-bed facility. That company is AECOM, which has also filed a lawsuit seeking Millions to cover cost overruns. If they don't finish the jail it seems that the $1.2M money suck will be torn down.

In the meantime, a jury is supposed to decide if there was criminal wrongdoing by county officials on this incredibly expensive disaster.
