Yesterday Wayne State University closed on the Hecker mansion and paid a hefty $2.3 Million for the fine piece of French Chateau-style architecture. The building was sold by the law firm that had been using it for office space and WSU plans to turn it into an alumni relations center. The 49-room home was designed by architect Louis Kamper and came on the market in 2013 asking $2.8 Million. It is a massive 21,000 square feet with a 5,700-square-foot carriage house out back.
