The M-1 Rail Line Now Has Rail, Placed In a Straight Line

New, 11 comments

Until now it looked like a canal was being installed downtown, without the charms of Venice. But now the ditch being dug for the M-1 Rail line has rail line. Unlike the People Mover, the M-1 Rail will go in two directions, not one, so expect this to happen on the other side of the street, too. The 560 foot, four-ton sections of rail are being installed on Woodward Avenue to construct a 3.3 mile stretch of "public transit" that will close at 10:00 p.m. H/T to the tipster that sent in this photo; our tipline runs until at least 11:59 p.m.

Here's what the M-1 Rail page FAQ says, in case you missed it.
