Developers Scoop Up Historic Church For $199,900

New, 2 comments

In a deal that closed two weeks ago, developers scooped up a church that came with a bonus bowling alley for $199,900. They plan to redevelop it into a mixed use community center including office and event space, according to a realtor close to the deal. There may also be live-work space. The church was originally "Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church" built in 1887. There was an addition in 1910 and a school built in 1924. The building was sold by the Lutherans in 2007 to the "Latino Mission Society." As for how the bowling alley ended up there, the realtor explains that the basement of the school was the "Bethlehem Gentlemen's Club," when the bowling alley was added in 1924.
