Bad Landlord Kefallinos Now Controls The Michigan Building

New, 12 comments

Noted terrible landlord, Dennis Kefallinos, now owns the Michigan Building, which comes with Detroit's most impressive theater-slash-parking garage. This is the same guy that bought the Roosevelt Hotel in 2010 and has failed to develop it. He has also owned dilapidated Shapero Hall since 2007 and just got around to announcing development plans for that this year. Other Keffallinos properties include the Russell Industrial Center and all of the apartment buildings in the Boydell Development Co. portfolio, which have had some pretty unhappy tenants in the past. He has told Crain's he plans to make the theater of the Michigan building into an event space.
