Near-Habitable Land Bank Home Auctioned For $28K

New, 2 comments

Near habitable or actually habitable? It depends on how you feel about bathroom cleanliness but this house is one or the other and it just sold in a Land Bank auction on BuildingDetroit.com after 145 bids. The final bid was $28,100 for the 1937 house which is of rare quality for a Land Bank property. The quality of the fireplace, the woodwork, and plasterwork are rare. The Land Bank, by definition, is in charge of "vacant, abandoned, and foreclosed property" which pretty much never means "great hardwood floors!" But apparently it happened once. Will it happen again?
