For the first time in decades, Detroiters can gaze at the city's most prominent skyscraper and know, with total certainty, that its hotel rooms are up to basic lodging standards. The RenCen Marriott has officially wrapped up a $30M renovation process that updated every one of its 1,298 hotel rooms. The old, unfashionable interior has been smothered under soothing tones of grey and blue, and it looks like the standard hotel art has been replaced with photos of Detroit landmarks. The update was sorely needed, especially now that competing rooms at the new Aloft Hotel are just a People Mover ride away.
