New Warehouse Replaces Forgotten Industrial Hellscape

Three months of demolition [Kirco Manix/Facebook]

A 275,000-square-foot medical logistics center has risen in an area north of Woodbridge, replacing a collection of abandoned factories, forgotten fuel tanks, and contaminated soil. It wasn't easy. Last year, D:Business wrote that workers made some unpleasant discoveries including 11 buried fuel tanks (records only showed 4) and an illegal chop shop later raided by the Detroit Police. Also, developers were "attacked by pit bulls." Slated to open later this year, the new warehouse looks sterile, but it sure beats the hellscape that the site once was.
