Handsomely Historic Marquette Building Fetches $5.8M

New, 18 comments

Directly across the street from Cobo Center and hoards of auto show attendees, Crain's reports that the historic Marquette Building just sold for about $5.8M. Despite the sweet location, the 10-floor building is almost entirely empty with just 5% occupancy. No word the condition of the 164,000-square-foot interior, but the unidentified buyer reportedly anticipates some sort of renovation. That being said, we're told not to expect a conversion into apartments or a boutique hotel. That sort of drama can be found at the old Fire Department Headquarters next door.
