There's work underway at Standard Barber Co, which opened last year on the second floor of the ancient, flatiron-shaped Reid Building. The barbershop is expanding its square footage by 75%, adding three more barber chairs and sinks aplenty. By punching through walls and installing a reclaimed hardwood floor, Standard co-owner Stephen Economy is aiming for a "continuous flat-iron style space with large bay windows overlooking Cadillac Square." Expect the space to be sparkling when it reopens in February.
