Saturday, Oct 24, Halloween takes it downtown with a free screening of the Rocky Horror Picture show at Campus Martius park. The Rocky Horror screening is part of HalloScreens, one of Quicken Loans' Harvest Happenings. The outdoor film series will feature scary movies and cute (not too scary kids) movies every Saturday night at 7:30. This week, the 1975 cult classic takes the stage for an event that will also include actors from The Detroit Actor's Theatre Company.
The movie will screen on Campus Martius' LED screen under a tent in Cadillac Square. Seats come standard, and moviegoers are welcome to buy popcorn and beverages, or to bring their own snacks, drinks and picnic blankets. Next weekend, the series celebrates Halloween on the day itself with a special double feature. At 7:30, they'll screen Monster House (for the kiddos) while the 9:00pm, Trick 'r Treat, is rated R and better suited for grownups.
