If you're looking to rent in one of Detroit's most beautiful neighborhoods, this 850-square-foot Indian Village apartment has a lot to offer. Newly remodeled, the unit features expansive white granite countertops, hardwood floors, a dishwasher, and one secure parking space. Gas and water are also included in the rent, and additional parking can be had for a very reasonable $40 a month.

Built in 1940, the apartment house shows some elements of deco style, especially in the detailed brickwork and tall, narrow windows over the entry. Your $1175 not only buys two bedrooms and a very nicely remodeled kitchen, the building's pedigree is pretty sweet, too. The architect, Charles N. Agree, also designed many iconic Detroit buildings including the Grande Ballroom, the Holden Reptile House at the Detroit Zoo, and the Whittier Hotel.

Cats are welcome, but no dogs, and all the appliances are stainless steel. While the unit's overall price may bring on a little bit of sticker shock, as a roommate situation, it's not a bad deal, and the utilities bring it into some pretty reasonable territory, too.
