New, 3 comments

While you wait for the Polk Penguin Conservation Center (PPCC) to open in the spring of 2016, you can take a sneak peek at the final stage of the construction with the above video. The Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak recently released the video along with a 4-D walkway experience and a 38-foot-long underwater viewing window. According to CBS Detroit, the PPCC is set to become the largest penguin facility in the world, spanning 33,000-square-feet. The PPCC costs a total $29.5 million and will feature 326,000 gallons of water in a 25-foot-deep aquatic area. When the penguins are relocated, their previous home, known as the Penguinarium, will be converted into a Bat Conservation Center.

In the below video, check out what the finished product will look like.
