Tired of Detroit's wintery gloom? Leave your salt-encrusted boots behind and take a stay-cation to the Detroit of yesteryear. If these vibrant postcards are to be believed, summers in Olde Detroit were exceedingly pleasant and occasionally downright tropical. Most are undated, but the postcards generally seem to show Detroit between 1900 and 1920. All come from the Burton Collection at the Detroit Public Library. Without further ado, pack your sunscreen—we're going to sunny Detroit.
