Advocates for protecting the United Sound Systems studio got a big win on Thursday, as the HDAB approved a request to make the studio into a historic district. Dozens of famous recordings were made in the tiny building, but the expansion of nearby I-94 threatens its survival. The application still needs the approval of City Council and the mayor.
