Over 150 acres of Detroit will ever-so-slowly become Hantz Woodlands, an urban forest planned on the city's east side. Such a huge space is hard to imagine, but the Hantz website now features an interactive map with photos of all 1,900 parcels involved. Aside from 15,000 saplings planted last spring and a showcase mini-forest on Van Dyke, nearly all of the lots still await trees.
