Northland Center Mall Fights to Survive the Winter

If you're hoping to explore the historic Northland Center mall before she kicks the bucket, time may be running thin. Lenders are now pushing to shutter the mostly-empty shopping center, blaming the ownership for its "utter lack of care" in maintaining it. Northland obviously needs a decor update, but that's actually the least of its concerns. Everything from the electrical system to the mall's water tower requires expensive repair work, which is a problem when "almost half" of the tenants don't pay rent on time. The doors could be locked by spring.
