After 380+ long days on the market, the Awkward Tudor has accelerated its rapid decent into the lowest of Palmer Woods price ranges. Originally listed at a lofty $425K, we watched the poor thing dip to $399K before plunging to $349K in January. Less than two months later, she just pinged the MLS with a startling new asking price: $299K. That seems reasonable for three stories, four bedrooms, five bathrooms, two living rooms, 70 leaded glass windows and a sweeping corner lot in Palmer Woods, right?
Built in 1921, the house has about 3,400 square feet if you include the basement bar (otherwise, 2,500). Like any historic tudor worth its salt, the house is full of nooks, weird rooflines and winding staircases. Unfortunately, all the interior clutter makes the photos look somewhat claustrophobic. As always, we'll add this admiring tidbit from the Palmer Woods neighborhood website:
"Built on a solid foundation more typical of commercial construction, there is evidence of superior craftsmanship throughout the 3,400 square-foot structure. Terrazzo floors, wood and steel beams, and two back-to-back staircases in the center of the house are a few examples."
What say you, commenters? Will a dive into the two-hundreds do the trick?
