As the parking garage at Michigan and Griswold waits patiently for developers to stack five stories of apartments on its roof, more immediate activity is happening down on the ground. The garage's huge street-level retail space—empty since the structure was built in 2008—is transforming into a new gym called CrossFit in the D.
WIth 12,000 square feet, the CrossFit in the D plans to debut in mid-April, making it the second new gym to open downtown in less than 2 years. The first, Anytime Fitness, opened last year inside the Security Trust Lofts building.
