It's official: Detroit's new parking system will begin showing up along the Avenue of Fashion in the spring, with a full roll-out coming downtown later this summer. The upgrade will include 300 new kiosks covering about 3,000 spaces, along with the ability to pay via smartphone app. The city also hopes to eliminate the uniform parking rate of $1/hour, replacing it with differently-priced parking "zones."
