"Water's Edge" Adds Classy New Apartments to Riverfront

New, 17 comments

Meet Water's Edge, a high-end apartment building practically dipping its toes in the Detroit River. Triton Properties has been dropping hints about Water's Edge for some time, describing it as a luxury building of 143 apartments coming to Harbortown in 2015. There hasn't been an official announcement yet, but renderings are up on Triton's website and construction appears to be off and running.

Water's Edge is pretty much the opposite of the glassy condo towers developers stacked along the Detroit River in the 1980s and '90s. According to the website of Detroit-based Kyle Evans Design, the building was meant to have a "more traditional turn of the century look, almost as if there were an existing warehouse with a new modern structure to cradle it." It's also noted that every unit has its own balcony or patio. Triton's website says to expect construction to finish up in 2015.
