As per tradition, spring officially arrives once a Mies van der Rohe townhouse shatters the asking price record. This year, it's a renovated stunner with ask to match: $225K. After a Mies-free winter, she's a sight for sore eyes.
With three bedrooms and 1.5 baths, the unit has polished cement floors and coveted views of the park. It offers an impressive take on the narrow Mies kitchen space, using open shelving above counters of soapstone and walnut butcher block. The custom glass shower is a thing of beauty. Last year's big spring listing set the bar at $150K, then closed in June for $165K. Is the Mies market hot enough to punch through the $200K ceiling? We'll soon find out.
