The Ransom Gillis House won't be the only fantastic ruin coming back to life this summer. Built in 1885, this elegant house in Woodbridge will be the latest project of developer Alex Pereira, known for his colorful restorations at the nearby Lorax and Up houses.
Thanks to a partially collapsed roof, the water-damaged interior will need to be totally gutted. On the plus side, a good number of historic details survived, including elaborate bannisters, molding, and even original door hinges. Pereira tells Curbed that if the weather holds, work will likely begin next week.
