The City Council again "kicked the can down the road" on the arena deal yesterday, which—as we all know by now—would've doomed Park Avenue Hotel but saved the Eddystone Hotel. Their reasoning? Turns out, the current proposal had a pretty big loophole: "...the paperwork only requires Ilitch Holdings' development arm to apply for a permit to preserve the historic Eddystone Hotel – it doesn't actually require them to go through with the preservation."
