The Wurlitzer Building's $21M+ restoration as a boutique hotel is ever-so-slowly moving forward. MLive reports that the development has been awarded a $1.9M tax incentive, but the juicier info concerns the amenities: In addition to 100 hotel rooms, plans call for café and bar spaces on the first floor, a restaurant on the second floor, and a rooftop lounge. There's something wonderful about the idea of tourists obliviously sipping martinis atop downtown's most dangerous building, especially since the last people we saw up there were conducting court-ordered repairs to keep it from falling apart. It does, however, look like quite the view.
