The annual Corktown Historical Home and Garden Tour is happening this Sunday (June 7), giving the public a chance to snoop through Detroit's oldest surviving neighborhood. The 2015 tour is made up of 15 destinations—mostly historic homes (including a worker's cottage) along with a couple of elegant churches and commercial buildings.
The tour runs from noon-5 p.m. on Sunday. Simply show up at the Gaelic League for tickets/info and you'll be good to go. Many participants walk between destinations, but a shuttle bus is provided. Also worth checking out: At 2 p.m., the Corktown Shamrocks and the Plymouth Red Rovers will face off in a vintage baseball game at Navin Field.
