For the first time in 25 years, the Detroit Zoo has wolves.
Opening today, the Cotton Family Wolf Wilderness is a two-acre sanctuary in the southwest corner of the park. It features grassy meadows and trees, a flowing stream, dens, and even an elevated rock outcropping so the two new gray wolves can survey their surroundings.
To celebrate, the Zoo is extending an exclusive offer to all human "Wolfs"—anyone with a first, middle or last name "Wolf" or a variant of the word (think Wolfgang, Wolford, etc.) can simply show a valid photo ID to enjoy one free admission today only. Parking, rides, attractions, food and other additional purchases are not included. - Leslie Youngblood
