This 3-bedroom, 1.5 bath home has nearly 2000 square feet of living space, not to mention a big back yard, nicely maintained detached garage, and two lovely screened-in sun porches, including one off the upstairs master bath, for enjoying sweet summer days in the D. The house in Bagley, close to the University District, has (mostly) hardwood floors, a working fireplace, and gorgeous original paneling in the home's 1948 library room. While all of this is nice, the house has some issues, including few new, cheap-looking interior doors downstairs, a full wall of mirrors in one bedroom and paint colors that realtors will spend many an awkward moment discussing. The financing may be a the real deal breaker, as the listing states that accepted offers aren't subject to lender appraisal values."
This house is stunning from the street with its sweeping green lawn and attractive brick facade. The backyard is nice, too, as is the driveway and garage. Inside, there are quite a few issues, despite the listing realtor's claim that "there is nothing to do exceptional [sic] personal touches." There's a whole wall of mirrors, ruby red carpet in the library, and there aren't pictures of the "granite kitchen," which is never a sign of anything good. Nevertheless, if a reasonable offer were accepted, the house's good bones would make a bit of remodeling worth the investment.
