If you want loft living in midtown, but aren't sure you're 100% buy-curious, consider this charming rental fresh on the market at $1850 a month. The unit has just one bedroom and 1.5 baths, but with 1400 square feet and a second sitting room, it offers a large amount of living space not even counting the shared deck. The unit comes unfurnished, which is both a relief (we all want our own stuff), and a disappointment (who doesn't want to eat breakfast under the watchful gaze of the deer head visible in most of the kitchen pix?). The unit features many luxury finishes, including Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, slate tile kitchen and baths, and stainless steel appliances.
If you're fretting about crime, the unit comes with a gated parking lot, reinforced entry doors and an intercom/built in security system. It's also directly across from a fire station in case you get a little careless with that high end gas range, but the owner wants potential renters to know that sirens are "not permitted between 10pm-7am." There are bike racks in the secured parking lot and the unit also offers a large soaking tub and newly installed blackout blinds for your day sleeping convenience. There's a gray toilet. It's as weird as it sounds, and they photographed it lid up (please just…no). For $1850, you also get a 2-story unit with a large upstairs living area. Deer head? Probably negotiable.
And if you want to buy, there's are units in the building for sale, including one for $319. The 2-bedroom unit we reported on in July has a pending offer at $334K—just $5K below ask.
