Grand Estates Auction Company will auction off a massive Lake Michigan beach retreat on August 25th. There's no minimum bid and no reserve on the 7-bedroom Bay Harbor house which promises stellar views of the Bay Harbor Golf Club and surrounding forests. The house has every imaginable luxury, and a few we hadn't quite imagined (an elevator, a state-of-the-art snow melting system). Each bedroom has its own en suite bath, and the cabinets for the place were made in the Netherlands.
Other amenities include what the auction agent calls an "award-winning custom-designed gourmet kitchen." That space features a massive, granite-topped island and a mosaic panel over the range depicting a wildly colorful array of ripe fruit exploding from a bowl. There's also a formal dining room with coffered ceilings and a home office with a fireplace (because you're definitely going to need to take working vacations to pay for this place). The home has cherry hardwood floors and cherry paneled walls
While there isn't a minimum bid or a reserve on the house, only qualified buyers who put down a $100,000 deposit are allowed to take part in the auction. Bidding starts at 2 pm on Tuesday. A similar Bay Harbor property, recently went for $11 million. With prices like that, the home office will get a 24/7 workout, perhaps while its hard-working occupant stares wistfully out a floor-to-ceiling window at that golf course.
