Leland Lofts has so many nice features, it's hard to find much amiss in the listing on this 1-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo. It's close to Eastern Market and Lafayatte Park, and building's history as a school translates to glass-fronted classroom cabinets and pebbled glass insets in original oak doors. The 1917 building also offers tall windows that let tons of light into the 2nd level corner unit. The loft has hardwood floors, a jetted tub in the master, a massive slate-tiled shower in the second full bath, and a pretty, open kitchen with luxe appliances and huge windows over the sink.
The home is also pretty on the inside—mechanicals are on point, and the place has double-paned, air insulated double hung windows, a dedicated forced air furnace and central air. The loft has 13 foot ceilings and comes with two secure parking spaces (one in a garage, and one in a fenced lot). There's also a large rooftop deck with great views of Detroit, especially at night. The HOA fee is $275, and doesn't include utilities. This loft has a very high ask, especially with just a single bedroom. Given that another 1-bed, 2-bath unit in the building sold just over a year ago for $174K, we have to ask if Detroit is really ready for prices as high as this ask. Only the market can say.
