While $2750 seems like some pretty high rent in Detroit, it beats the price a similar unit in this building asked back in 2011—a staggering $3500 a month. Curbed suggested checking back with Detroit Towers when "they add a pool, sauna, and New York City address." While the pool isn't a thing, and the place is still in Detroit, the unit on offer today does have a sauna—and a walk-in jacuzzi. The place has marble and hardwood floors in the main living space and so much carpet in the large bedrooms you'd need a riding vacuum cleaner to keep up with it (or a housekeeper).

This 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom 2500 square foot condo has spectacular river views, a Sub-Zero fridge, in-unit laundry, California closets and its own storage room. Plusses include concierge service, and access to the communal riverfront terrace. Huge minus is that the condo comes fully furnished, and the furniture is fully ugly. Overstuffed leather, mirror wall over the master bed, and color schemes in the master and other bedrooms that recall Grandma's place..if your grandma were a kind of low-rent Leona Helmsely. But the place is deluxe, and the 7th floor qualifies as the sky, so perhaps Sherman Hemsley is more on point. It's also $750 less expensive than the (sauna-free) unit we discussed years ago, so you can say you got a deal. And the valet and doorman make unloading groceries a breeze…for your housekeeper.
