Eastern Market After Dark, a true highlight of Detroit Design Festival, showed off Detroit's best and most innovative designers, artists and architects last night. The party atmosphere stretched for blocks, with thousands walking from parking spaces far and near to take part. Part design expo, part night club in terms of ambiance, it felt a bit like Detroit's hottest club was "Market", where tiny Pomeranians frolicked in the street with the a massive Red Bull DJ vehicle (three screens, turntables, five feet off the ground), pedicabs awaited fares, and Detroit's best and brightest turned out in their chicest and finest to celebrate the city's great and continuing design legacy.
Tonight and tomorrow, you can catch up with DDF at the Design Village. Design Fest continues through Saturday night, when Under the Cut takes place to wrap things up.
