If you need a Labor Day getaway last-minute, consider this $825-a-night cabin is located on private Zeron's Island in Sage Lake. The house is currently available for Labor Day, sleeps 10, and is, according to the listing copy, "totally private/off the grid." The 7.5 acre island has over 2000 feet of sandy beach and includes two boat docks. In addition to the usual luxuries of high-end beach rentals, the island has three look-out decks for sweeping lake views and offers many priceless opportunities to see Michigan wildlife, including bald eagles.

The house itself has two bedrooms and one bath on the main level and a large second floor sleeping loft. Outdoors, there's a fire pit and full, custom outdoor kitchen with a grilling area, as well as a camping spot and bathhouse for guests who want to sleep under the stars. Outdoor recreation isn't limited to swimming, boating, fishing and water sports. The home has a horseshoe pit, and seems tailor made for an end-of-summer family Up North.

Finishes inside the home are luxe, and the kitchen is especially homey and charming with its sage-colored cabinets and granite counters. There's a dishwasher, so no need to scrub after you make a feast of fresh-caught northern pike, smallmouth bass, or yellow perch. If nights are chilly, there's the fire pit, but also a massive stone fireplace indoors. Though it isn't free, the rental comes with a 2014 pontoon boat that seats 13 in plush, leather-trimmed luxury. There are also those three look-out decks for more intimate moments of lake-gazing, perhaps even in the moonlight.

Nearby in Lupton, you can enjoy dinner and live music at Kenyon's Resort, assuming you want to spend even a minute of the weekend off-island. In addition to the $825-a-night rental cost, you'll also pay $150 for cleaning and $200 for boat rental. Given the amenities here, and the semi-reasonable price (if you spilt it 10 ways, totally affordable), we're surprised this one's still available. Maybe not for long now that the word is out.
