Motor City Match has extended its deadline for business and property owners to January 10 for Round 3 applications.

The program, which provides grant funds, building matches, and business planning to small businesses, originally had a January 1 deadline for this round. Due to holiday constraints, they've extended the deadline.

But if you're too late this round, no worries: The program will be issuing quarterly awards.

Launched by Mayor Mike Duggan's office, Motor City Match started last year with a successful first round of awards, giving out $500,000 in grant funding to 10 businesses and technical assistance for 87 businesses. The program aims to help small businesses move to and expand in Detroit, creating jobs and opportunities around the community. Motor City Match has application tracks for both business and building owners.

One of Round One's small businesses (and Hatch Detroit winner) Amina Daniels was recently profiled in Blac Detroit Magazine.

We're encouraged by the buildings and properties eligible throughout the city and hope to see more of the neighborhoods represented in the upcoming rounds.
