On Saturdays, Eastern Market is known for its many vendors selling food, jewelry, flowers, and a little bit of everything to thousands of visitors. This Sunday, The Eastern Detroit (a newer event venue which previously housed the Hook and Ladder House No. 5 and the Detroit Fire Department Repair Shop) will host The Mercantile, which is calling itself a "first-of- its-kind cause-based shopping experience." It’s curated by HGTV personality Emily Henderson and it was created by Micheal Ford.
The Mercantile will have more than 25 retailers and music from the pop-funk band The Shadowboxers. Retailers include Love Travels Imports, Branded by Detroit, Better Life Bags, Rebel Nell, Mutual Adoration, Beard Balm, The Giving Keys, Society B, Raven and Lily, Lazlo, Yumbitz, Lead Head Glass, Nisolo, Fashionkind, and more.
The Mercantile held an event in Nashville earlier this year, and will also be hosted in LA later this year.
The event will be Sunday, October 16 at 2pm. The Shadowboxers perform at 6:30. It is a ticketed event, and the ticket price includes a cocktail (plus entertainment). Tickets are $15 in advance and $22 at the door.
