Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we're looking at rentals around the city within $100 of today's price: $1,000.
First we’re starting out with this apartment in New Center, close to the Lodge and the Fisher Building. It has two bedrooms, one bathroom, hardwood floors, a fireplace, and it’s just under 1,000 square feet. It also allows cats and small dogs. It’s at the higher end of our price range, coming in at $1,100 per month.
Next is this newly renovated three bedroom apartment in the North End. It’s located on John R just south of the Arden Park district. It has hardwood floors, a new kitchen and bathroom, and a new security system. It also allows cats. It’s listing for $925 a month, plus utilities.
Looking to live downtown? Briggs Houze will be open soon at Grand Circus Park. They have 435 square foot studios available for $914 a month. Dogs and cats are allowed. This is walking distance to many places downtown, or just a short People Mover ride away.
This one bedroom apartment near Wayne State in Midtown is on the second story of a house and has hardwood floors, cool checkered floors in the small kitchen, and a balcony. Must love university life for this one. It’s listing for $925 a month, and cats and dogs are allowed.
We featured this one on Monday and it may be gone by now, but it had us dreaming of living on the canals. It has a two-story deck, three bedrooms, and a place for your boat! It’s going for $900 per month, plus utilities.
