From an apartment downtown to a carriage house in Palmer Woods

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we're looking at rentals around the city within $100 of today's price: $1,200.

This three bedroom, one and a half bath house is located in Rosedale Park. It has 2,000 square feet and a detached garage, but no pictures and no pets allowed. It’s coming in under budget at $1,100 a month.

Maybe you’re not ready to put down $700K+ for a house in Palmer Woods, but there’s a carriage house available to rent. Located on the Van Dusen Mansion estate, this coach house has two bedrooms, one bath, and it has 1,100 square feet of space. Plus you can admire the lovely mansion close by. It’s renting for $1,200 a month.

This newly renovated Islandview house is close to Belle Isle and West Village, and has four bedrooms, one and a half baths, lots of light,and new appliances. Pets are negotiable, and the tenant will have to pay electric and gas. The price? $1,250 a month.

What this Brush Park loft lacks in space, it makes up for in style and location. It combines modern finishes with industrial design in just over 700 square feet, and it’s renting for $1,300 a month.

Renaissance Center Apartments has a 15th floor unit available. This one bed, one bath apartment has its own balcony, and there’s a grocery store on the bottom floor. It’s located near Greektown and downtown. It’ll be available in January, and it’s renting for $1,290 a month.
