Here’s what $1,500 can rent you in Detroit right now

Midtown? Southwest? Riverfront?

Welcome to this week's installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we're looking at rentals around the city within $100 of today's price: $1,500.

First, we’re heading to Southwest Detroit in the Hubbard Farms district. This 1894 restored Victorian has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a huge porch, and so much charm. It’s right on budget at $1,500 a month. Dogs and cats are allowed.

This house on Parker Street is right in the heart of West Village, a block from Parker Street Market and Sister Pie, and also a block away from Craft Work and Red Hook. Unfortunately, the listing only gives us an idea of what the floors look like. It also has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and it’s listing for $1,550 per month.

This one bedroom, one bath penthouse downtown at the Detroit City Apartments has incredible views. It’s pretty no-frills inside, but you can see what’s happening downtown and walk anywhere from here. It’s renting for $1,515 per month (parking and utilities are extra) and dogs and cats are allowed.

This 1,400-square-foot two bedroom, two bath loft in the Art Center is renting for $1,400 a month. It’s located on Woodward near I-94, just a couple blocks up from the DIA. It’s right along the M-1 rail line. It only has one gated parking spot and dogs aren’t allowed. Sorry.

This one bedroom, one bath rental in the River Place Apartments is renting for $1,600 a month. It’s right along the River Walk and has a spacious living space. Dogs and cats are allowed.
