Update from Kari Smith at the Packard Plant: The meeting tonight is a public hearing for the Brownfield Application only and there will be public community meetings in the future that will involve plans and visioning.
It’s been a few months since we’ve heard about the Packard Plant. Now we know this Tuesday, the City of Detroit Brownfield Redevelopment Authority will be holding a meeting to discuss the possible redevelopment of the sprawling complex. It looks like plans are starting to take shape for the massive structures, including gallery and event space, some food and retail, and offices. To consider:

The property is located on the eastside of Detroit at the intersection of East Grand Boulevard and Concord Street on 5 parcels which consist of the historic Administration Building at 1580 East Grand Boulevard, two interior corridors at 5821 and 5847 Concord, and two vacant lots at 5580 and 5590 Concord.
All interested persons desiring to make public comments will be afforded an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing and are invited to provide written testimony or materials concerning the proposed Brownfield Plan.”
